Our company
About our company
Building the future, true to our heritage
Since the BearCan Group acquired the company in November 2024, we have been committed to supporting our new management team. While the previous owners, Clarence and Donald, have retired, the rest of the management team has remained in place and risen to the challenge of managing all day-to-day operations. We've welcomed a few new faces, but the heart of our business remains firmly rooted in our local community.
We recognized the value of a unique asset:
a strong, human corporate culture, built up by the previous owners.
At the heart of this success:
our people, who exceed expectations and set the bar ever higher.

Founded in 1995
The story of a solid structure

-
1995 - Birth of Truss Acadienne
Local entrepreneur Théo Mazerolle founds Truss Acadienne in Inkerman, N.B. He soon entrusts day-to-day management to his wife Gisèle and brother-in-law Donald Boudreau. The initial plant measured 40' x 60'. In 2000, a 50' x 60' extension was added, including front offices.
-
2000 - Arrival of Clarence Godin
Clarence Godin has been making roof trusses since the 1980s, and joins the team as a natural addition to the operation.
-
2008 - Change of ownership and new identity
Clarence Godin and Donald Boudreau, both employed by the company, purchase the business from Théo Mazerolle, in partnership with Ola Johnson (Atlas Structural Systems). The company takes the name Truss Péninsule, but retains the Atlas brand license and operates under this identity until 2023. As fate would have it, around 2010, Paul Thebeau worked with Ola Johnson in business development, discovering the world of roof trusses. Was this just a coincidence... or a story already written in the stars?
-
2013 - Departure of Ola as shareholder
Ola Johnson sells Atlas, marking a new stage in the company's evolution, and announces his departure from Truss Péninsule.
-
2019 - Strategic collaboration with CMS (now BearCan)
CMS, headed by Paul Thebeau, becomes a major customer, mainly for residential projects in First Nations communities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Truss Péninsule became CMS's main supplier of structural systems. This volume of business leads to the construction of the wall panel plant.
-
2023 - Start of negotiations with BearCan
The BearCan Group, which includes CMS, is in discussions to acquire Truss Péninsule.
-
November 2024 - A new era
BearCan completes the acquisition and opens a new chapter, combining local heritage with innovation for the future.
